Dear QEG Family, Friends and Supporters,

Well you all know by now we’re a little behind in our calculations for when we thought the device would be ready. The holidays swooped in and dominated our time with waves of relatives coming and going, and festive community activities. As pleasant as this was, we are thrilled to be back to work, and I am happy to provide this update as to where we are in the process.

For all the time we were not able to work in the lab, Jamie had ‘downloads’ of how to combine functions, which actually resulted in time saved! We have also been trying to get some legal advice and determine the best route to take with distribution (notwithstanding the naysayers, we are 100% positive this is going to work). The plans will be open-sourced, but what we can’t really figure out is how to prevent people with a lot of money and power from using it to make a stupid profit (you know – the kind of profit that hurts others). Perhaps an agreement that this is prohibited but how can this be enforced? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Assembly has begun. One problem we had was with the diameter of the shaft – it came in slightly undersized, so it can’t be pressed into the rotor. Jamie thinks he can get around this by using industrial adhesive, which is what he’s looking into now. The worst case scenario is we order another shaft. The stator (generator core), rotor, motor, end plates and other parts are all perfect.

We are in process of mounting the bearings to the end plates (see photo). This needs to be done very precisely because the rotor has to spin freely with a very small gap (.010 inch) between rotor and stator (generator core).

One of our associates is waiting for the drawing for the wooden base which is almost complete. In the meantime, Jamie has begun the wiring process. Then, as soon as the base is completed, he will mount the stator, shaft/rotor assembly, bearings and end plates. Once these components are mounted to the base the next step is to mount the drive motor with speed control, and v-belt/pulleys.

When the generator is assembled to this point, it will be almost complete. The last steps are the assembly and wiring of the operator control panel.

I’m glad to hear that the project is progressing. For distributing the plans, consider a copyleft license like the GPL (GNU General Public License), so that others making and distributing the machine would have to make freely available the plans with any modifications or improvements that they make, under the same license.

Do not waste time and energy with attempting to create legal controls on open source information. Profits can be made regardless of what you do. No need to be concerned with what others do to make profit as long as anyone is free to use the info. All you need to do is disclose complete details to establish prior art to prevent others from getting patents and restricting use of the information on QEG. Most previous developers of free energy devices have gotten distracted by attempting to protect “intellectual property” and so we have no publicly available free energy devices yet. Do not get distracted by this. You must release the plans in such a way that the info cannot be suppressed. That is the most important danger to avoid. I hope anyone who wants to can make profit providing free energy devices.

In my opinion, you need to get the patents. When you don’t have the patents, bad people or corporations can patent your invent and prevent others, including the inventor from using the device. I hate legal controls, but they are done this way in order to avoid things like “Free Energy” devices, destroy the oil, electric and car industry.

Once you have the patent, you can make it available for everyone through “Open Source” and when the generator is available for everybody, it will be difficult for the darkies to win this battle.

Of course, within the “Open Source”, you must include something prohibitting the use for lucrative purposes and if somebody want to make money from your generator, they will need your authorization. Otherwise, they will be liable.

Monsanto is doing all its evil by patenting seeds and these patents entitle them to sue agricultors and then we have been invaded by GMOS.

If you think on Judo’s philosophy. By using the strenght of your oponent, and re-directing it, you can make him fall down. Thus, using the rules of the system against the system, sometimes is the wise way to do. It has worked many times.

- The problem we see with patents is corruption. Tens of thousands of inventions have been “stolen” from inventors by the patent office, only to be locked away preventing their development and use. Big problem for new technologies.

- F that. Patents will not prevent me from buying or purchasing this product. It is immoral and irrelevant. Patents are the problem we are trying to avoid.

Like Gam said, don’t worry about other people making a profit from your generator. Many people would gladly pay for a pre-built generator because they won’t want to build it themselves. If your plans are freely available on the Internet and the device works, people from many countries like India will build it themselves and word will spread around. This will raise the lower common denominator, and in time everybody will have clean, cheap, renewable energy. The world will be a lot better.

In Taiwan, as long as the technical documents are open on the Internet, there is nobody who can make it a “patent”.

When the device is working mail yourself a full copy of the plans.
Keep this unopened and notaried.
If anyone tries to steal the plans by patent you have the original in a sealed, dated, noted envelope.
Plus if you post them everywhere on the internet no one will then be able to patent them. This is the information age. It might have been possible in the past but not nowadays.
If you want to control the profit offer the plans with a business plan or non exclusive area. I am in the UK and want to get involved in the whole project. I used the contact form but maybe you get loads of them.
